"Black John" Rymer and his wife Lodaska Epperson
in Cooksin Creek cemetery. "Black John" was born
in Buncombe county NC, his birth date as shown on
his tombstone was February 22, 1830. His
confederate army enlistment in 1862 lists him as
30, indicating he was born in 1832, he died on
November 28, 1901. Lodaska was born in Polk Co.
TN on February/22/1838 (may be in error) and
died on September 23, 1920. Both were living in
Polk county TN at the time of their death.
Albert Taylor Rymer was born in
Polk county, TN on June 15, 1886 and died in
Murray county, GA on February 1, 1931. He was
originally buried in Summerour cemetery in Murray
county, GA. Frances wanted to be buried next
to her husband but there was no room. Frances and
the rest of her family had moved back to Polk
county, TN. Frances purchased plots in the
cemetery at Benton, TN and had Albert's remains
moved there so she could be buried next to him.

1989 in Bradley county, TN, survived by her

Franklin Wellborn McCamy's Headstone
He was the youngest child of Robert and Patsy
McCamy. He married Susan Claudia Griffin on November
8, 1874.
Susan
Griffin McCamy the mother of Frances McCamy
Rymer was born in Anderson, SC. In 1874
(after the family moved to Murray
County GA) at the age of
17 she married Franklin Wellborn McCamy.
The couple had three sons (one died
young) and six daughters. In
1890, when Frances was born they were living in
the Peachtree community (Near Murphy) NC. In order
for the girls to get an education at the end of
1890 the family moved to Young-Harris, GA, where a
college had just been founded. Five of the six
sisters graduated from Young-Harris. This was
quite unusual in the days when girls generally did
not attend college.
John
Julian McCamy (Uncle John) was
born on September 22, 1880 (believe it
was in either Murray county GA or
Peachtree community NC). He died on
February 28, 1929 in Murray county GA
and is buried next to his parents in
Summerour Cemetery. He never married.
Frank Albert Rymer was
born on April 17, 1913, the oldest child
of Albert and Frances Rymer. Albert was
working on the "Flume Line" at the time
and Frank was born in a cabin where a
creek entered the Ocoee river (Polk
county, TN). He died at Old Fort, TN on
August 8, 1997 and is buried next to his
parents in the Benton, TN cemetery.
Willie Mae "Bill"
Higdon Rymer was born at Reliance, TN
(Polk county) on May 27, 1912 and died
at Old Fort, TN (Polk county) on June
11, 1987. She is buried next to Frank
